A new initiative titled GenAI Ready Naari has been proposed to empower women across Assam, with a special focus on tribal communities. The programme, supported by the Gates Foundation, will be implemented by the Nimaya Foundation, co-founded by Navya Nanda and Samyak Chakrabarty in 2021.
The Assam Investment Advisory Society (AIAS) and Ashoka University’s Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC) will partner in rolling out the programme, which seeks to prepare young women from underserved backgrounds to harness the potential of Artificial Intelligence. By combining creativity and talent with GenAI tools, the initiative aims to help participants build aspirational careers and entrepreneurial ventures.
According to the release, the programme is designed to bridge the digital divide and ensure that women from tribal and marginalized areas are not left behind in the rapidly evolving AI-driven economy. It represents a step toward inclusive technological empowerment, encouraging women to innovate and lead in emerging industries.
