Taylor Swift wore a Dior dress by creative director Jonathan Anderson to the 2026 Academy Museum Gala on Saturday night at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
The dress was a modern take on Cinderella style, with a strapless silhouette and full, flowing skirt cast in a muted shade of gray-blue. The bodice of the “Patient Zero” singer‘s gown featured slight fabric ruching and sparkles throughout.
A statement bow element at the center of the neckline added further shimmering elements to the overall look. Swift accessorized with statement diamond earrings, along with delicate bracelets and rings. Stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer curated Swift’s look.
The singer has developed a close relationship with Anderson, who designed the Swift’s July 2026 wedding dress. “It was a joy to work with her. We became very good friends,” Anderson told WWD Paris bureau chief Joelle Diderich in July during Paris Couture Week. “It’s an emotional thing doing someone’s wedding.”
Swift wasn’t only on-hand as a special guest for Saturday night’s event. The singer also performed at the gala, raising suspicions her “Toy Story 5” song “I Knew It, I Knew You” may be in contention for a Best Original Song nomination at the Academy Awards in 2027.
“Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world,” said Amy Homma, director and president of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection.
“We are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema.”
The sixth annual Academy Museum Gala was held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Saturday night. Filmmaker and composer John Carpenter was honored with the Luminary Award his contributions to filmmaking, while Charlize Theron was also honored with the Icon Award and Colman Domingo was named the recipient of the Vantage Award.
While there was plenty of star power at the event, a performance from Grammy Award-winner Swift added a touch of pop star edge to the night. Presented in partnership with Rolex, the 2026 Academy Museum Gala co-chairs included Robert Rodriguez, Tom Ford, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw.
