The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, Kwara dtate governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and Emir Ado Bayero were among the eminent personalities that attended the grand finale of Az- Zumratul Adabbiyatul Kamaliyyah School of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilorin, Kwara state.
While the Sultan and Bayero were physically present, Governor AbdulRazaq was represented by Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah.
Former senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, former acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, the PDP 2027, governorship candidate, Kale Kawu ,Kwara 2026 Amirul – Hajj, Hon. Mashood Mustapha who was the chief launcher, and the immediate past registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is- haq Oloyede also graced the event.
The institute which clocked 100 years was established by the late founder of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, Sheikh Muhammad Kamalud- deen Al- Adabiy.
Speaking at the occasion, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, cautioned the Nigerian youths against making themselves available as thugs for anyone.
He warned the youths to shun attempt by anyone to use them for thuggery or as bandits for either political or economic gains.
“I challenge our youths not to allow themselves to be used as thugs or as bandits in whatever way, either for political or economic gains, “Saadu said.
The Sultan of Sokoto also admonished Nigerians on the need to always pray for their leaders- wether president or governor, saying that it’s only Allah that could provide solutions to the nation’s problems.
He charged Muslims to be better Muslims by loving their neighbours the way they love themselves without mindind their neighbours’ religious beliefs.
“All of us should be better Muims by being good to our neighbor regardless of their faith.We should also pray for our leaders always so that they can do good things for all of us.
“We are Muslims and we love everybody.We have not come here to say that we are better than anyone. Our leaders should do more. We know our problems, but Allah has solutions to our problems. It’s Allah that grants one or nation prosperity and otherwise,” Saad said.
He praised the founder of the institution, the late Sheikh Muhammad Kamaldeen Al- Adabbiy for his foresight, adding that: “We thank Allah for keeping the progress of this institution. We will always do all we can do to help this institution.”
For his part, governor AbdulRazaq who announced a donation of N180 million on his behalf, his family and Kwara state government, said his administration would continue to support the school to realise the vision of its founder.
He extolled the virtuous of the late Sheikh Kamalu-deen urging muslim umah to continue to his path of peace, promotion of scholarship and religious harmony.
In his speech, former president of the senate, reiterated his commitment to sustaining the legacies of the late Sheikh Kamalu-deen who he said his contribution to the propagation of Islam and promotion of co- education was well acknowledged beyond the shores of the country.
“Wherever you go todyay, Ilorin is synonymous to Islam and Islam is synonymous to Ilorin and is because of the great works done by people like the late sheikh Kamalu-deen in the propagation of Islam even beyond the shores of Nigeria,” he said.
