Real Madrid have stepped up their campaign for Javier Tebas’ resignation as their feud with the La Liga president continues.
Los Blancos have highlighted the international reaction to Tebas’ controversial comparison of the club’s communication methods with Nazi-era propaganda techniques.
In a statement published on their official website, Real Madrid drew attention to coverage from several major international publications, with German football magazine Kicker particularly critical of Tebas.
German publication calls for Tebas to resign
The strongest condemnation came from Kicker journalist Thomas Boker, who argued that the La Liga president had crossed an unacceptable line.
“It is an insult to the victims: Tebas must resign. He has crossed the line irreparably,” Boker wrote.
“Given the history of the situation, there is only one possible consequence.”
Swiss newspaper Blick also questioned the conduct of the Spanish football chief, stating that Tebas had abandoned the diplomacy expected of the president of a major European league.

Other leading European publications have also covered the controversy without explicitly endorsing calls for his resignation.
Madrid take their case beyond Spanish football
The controversy began when Tebas accused Real Madrid TV of employing communication methods resembling those associated with Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany’s propaganda minister.
Tebas subsequently defended his remarks, insisting that he was comparing propaganda techniques rather than ideologies or Real Madrid supporters.
Madrid have nevertheless maintained their demand for his resignation.
By highlighting the international reaction, the club are making it clear that they consider the matter far more serious than another disagreement over refereeing or league administration.
Tebas has created an unnecessary crisis
The criticism from Germany is particularly significant given the historical weight of references to Nazism.
Tebas may insist that his comparison concerned only communication techniques, but the president of La Liga should understand the implications of invoking such a figure in a footballing dispute.

His position demands judgement and restraint, yet Tebas has shown a complete lack of sensitivity towards a very delicate subject.
Real Madrid are entitled to challenge refereeing decisions and question the authorities overseeing the competition.
They have repeatedly been on the receiving end of unfair decisions in the Spanish league, particularly in recent seasons.
By sharing international media reactions through their official channels, Madrid are seeking to increase the pressure on Tebas.
Tebas may have offered an explanation for his actions, but those actions were far from warranted. It remains to be seen how this saga develops.
