At least four people have died and several others have been injured in a multiple-vehicle collision in Kurugoda, Akurana, along the Kandy–Matale main road.
Sri Lanka Police said the accident occurred near Kurugoda Junction when a cement mixer truck collided with several vehicles and pedestrians.
Several injured people have reportedly been admitted to Akurana Hospital for treatment.
The crash has caused severe traffic congestion in the area, police said.
