Unboxing the iPhone Duo - image credit: Kingmi Mobile
A series of iPhone Duo unboxing videos are now on YouTube, showing how the device ships in its open configuration, and how the display crease is practically invisible.
The first reviews of the iPhone Duo are expected shortly, although they may just prove tantalizing given how hard it is to buy one. But a series of three linked unboxing videos have surfaced, showing both the Star White and Night Sky color versions.
Of the three, this video shows the most detail. The iPhone Duo is revealed to ship in its open, unfolded configuration, but even during initial startup it can be closed.
The video then demonstrates how the interior opens with the now familiar animation whether the phone is in portrait or landscape. Plus it shows exactly how the Kid Cue feature is turned on to attract your child's attention as you take a photo.
A second video repeats much of the unboxing but specifically shows how invisible the crease in the center of the screen is. It demonstrates that the crease can be seen when the display is pressed in a specific place.
The third video spends an odd amount of time showing the unboxer using a heat gun to loosen the adhesive packaging strip. But after that it demonstrates the setup screens while describing the build quality as "heaven."
Apple's iPhone Duo is available for pre-order now, although shipping dates are showing January 25, 2027. The new device should be on sale in Apple Stores from October 23, 2026, but stocks are expected to be low to even nil.
