MOSCOW, October 24. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky differs from his predecessors for the worse; he has failed to keep all his pre·election promises and has not achieved any results for the country, Russian Federation Council Vice Speaker Konstantin Kosachev said in an interview with TASS.
According to Kosachev, it is the failed pre-election promises prevent Zelensky from holding presidential elections. When he ran for office, his main election promises were to bring peace back to Ukraine, normalize relations with Russia, and resolve the people’s pressing problems related to wages, pensions, access to electricity and fuel, the senator said.
"It was thanks to these promises that Zelensky won; in fact, people expected him to pursue a different policy compared to his predecessors. And now, after seven or eight years of what is known as Zelensky’s presidency, we can say that he is indeed different from his predecessors. But not for the better -- he has definitely failed to keep his own campaign promises, and, most importantly, he has failed to achieve any positive results for Ukraine and its population through his policy, which differed from his campaign promises," the parliamentarian believes.
Zelensky’s presidential powers expired on May 20, 2024, but Kiev has not held elections during this entire period, claiming that it is impossible until martial law ends.
