Gilberto Mora was one of the main players linked with Liverpool this summer.
The now 18-year-old caused a massive stir as he became the second youngest player to ever feature for his country at a World Cup.
And, even though he didn't manage to get a goal or assist during the tournament, since his return to domestic football with Club Tijuana, he's been in top form.
Whether he's used as a number 10 or a left winger, it's felt like he's been playing ahead of his years and now, a decision has finally been made by Liverpool about whether they want to bring him in or not.
Liverpool have clearly decided that they don't want to sign Gilberto Mora
Liverpool's number 10 is probably one of their main problem areas at the moment.
Even though Florian Wirtz performed well against LASK on Wednesday evening, the Austrian outfit were much worse in every department than the Reds.
Obviously, the fact that they managed to score three goals shouldn't be brushed over but, thanks to how well Liverpool's attack performed, they managed to come out the other side of the tie with three points to their name.
Before this tie, questions were being asked about what the Reds' plans were for their attack with many different players, such as Mora, being linked with a move.
Signing Mora would make a lot of sense as, if he joined in January, within three years, he'd be homegrown and would easily be eligible for any squad that Liverpool wanted to register him to.
However, after this latest transfer update from TuttoMercatoWeb, Mora may not be as high on Liverpool's shortlist as he first thought.
"Therefore, it's safe to assume that Liverpool (and the other Como clubs) will be carefully considering midfield options, perhaps Maximo Perrone and Lucas da Cunha, and Martin Baturina and Nico Paz in the attacking midfield," they wrote.
"The Merseyside club's firepower in the transfer market is well known, and Liverpool will continue to invest in January and the summer. And who knows, perhaps today's match will yield some interesting ideas."
Liverpool may regret going for one of Como's midfielders instead of Gilberto Mora
Obviously, the four Como players linked with Liverpool have a lot more experience under their belts than Mora.
Each of them have played a key role in Cesc Fabregas' plans over the last couple of years and, while Nico Paz and Lucas Da Cunha are the two main players who stand out, they're all more than solid and each of them would be a good signing for the Reds.
However, since Mora is still young and has basically all of his career to go, he could easily eclipse the quartet.
And, since he has a release clause worth around £21 million, he's not even too expensive for Liverpool to sign.
Obviously, if Liverpool went to sign any of the four players from Como, they'd cost considerably more than that but, they may have already reached their peaks.
In addition to this, since they're all over the age of 21, they'd never be classed as homegrown which would leave Liverpool in the same precarious position they currently find themselves in.
Of course, there are pros and cons about each deal but, on the face of things, agreeing a move for Mora makes the most sense out of any of them.
