Huawei MatePad Pro 12 (2026) launches outside China with PaperMatte OLED display, now even thinner and lighter

Back in August, Huawei introduced the MatePad Pro 12 (2026) in China. The tablet features an expansive 12-inch OLED panel, which Huawei categorizes as “PaperMatte”, denoting a non-glare coating that enhances outdoor visibility and the display feel. Huawei has now launched the MatePad Pro 12 (2026) in Germany.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12 (2026) measures 264.2 x 172.9 x 4.7 mm and weighs just 454 g. This means that the tablet is both lighter and thinner than the 2025 MatePad Pro 12. However, despite being impressively thin, Huawei claims a 13.7-hour video playback time. When the tablet runs out of juice, the battery can be charged at up to 66 W. Huawei also explains that you can deliver reverse charging to a phone through a USB-C cable at up to 40 W.

That said, the main star of the show here is the 12-inch PaperMatte OLED panel. The display carries a resolution of 3,036 x 1,952 and an acclaimed peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Last year’s MatePad Pro 12 (2025) features a 144 Hz  2800 x 1840 resolution Tandem OLED PaperMatte panel. It impressed us quite a bit in our testing. So, we are also expecting great things from the MatePad Pro 12 (2026) display as well.

For the SoC, the Huawei MatePad Pro 12 (2026) is powered by a Kirin T93 SoC, an 8-core chip that promises substantial performance gains over the last-gen Kirin T92 featured inside the MatePad Pro 12 (2025). Be sure to check out our testing of the Kirin T92 to see how the SoC stacks up against the competition.

Price and availability

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12 (2026) will be available starting October 13 in Germany through Huawei’s online store and Huawei’s flagship store in Berlin. The tablet starts at €1,099 without the Huawei Glide keyboard cover. You’ll need to shell out an additional €200 if you want to purchase the tablet with the keyboard cover.

Finally, Huawei will be offering a €100 discount and a free Huawei M-Pencil Pro with every MatePad Pro 12 (2026) purchased from Huawei’s official online store. The offer will be valid till November 17.
