The fifth-highest jackpot in the history of the Ötöslottó was won at Saturday's draw: one lucky player became 5.19 billion forints richer, Szerencsejáték Zrt. announced to MTI on Saturday evening.
According to the statement, the winning ticket — the second jackpot-winning entry of the year — featured the numbers 12, 36, 68, 84, and 89. The 21 players who matched four numbers will each receive 3.2 million forints.
The jackpot winner must call the so-called major winners’ hotline at the national lottery company within 90 days of the day following the draw; the contact details are available at https://www.szerencsejatek.hu and at sales outlets. During the phone consultation, a staff member of the lottery company will verify that the person on the line is indeed the winner, after the winning ticket has been identified, the statement reads.
According to the announcement, only after this step can an in-person meeting take place, and if identification is successful, the payment process can begin following the verification of personal details. The winner must hold a current account opened in Hungary, as large prize payments are always made by bank transfer.
