With the Washington Huskies on their bye week, Jedd Fisch's coaching staff will have an opportunity to hit the road for some recruiting, and one 2028 prospect who should receive a visit is five-star linebacker Tahj Gray.
While that's partially due to the fact that his older brother, four-star edge rusher Chaz Gray, is committed to UW's 2027 class, the Huskies have built a strong relationship with the 6-foot-3, 233-pound product of St. Joseph Regional in Montvale, New Jersey, who is ranked as the top linebacker and No. 13 overall prospect in the 2028 class by 247Sports.
With almost 50 offers to his name, and Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas all among the programs vying for his services, the Huskies should be considered among his top suitors. Tahj has visited Washington twice, first during Chaz's official visit in late May, and again for Washington's season-opening victory over Washington State in the Apple Cup.
As the Huskies continue to sell the top-ranked linebacker on joining his older brother on Montlake, defensive coordinator Ryan Walters has the perfect scheme to utilize his skill set.

"Explosive and powerful athlete that could be a defensive chess piece," 247Sports' Andrew Ivins wrote in his scouting report. "Deployed primarily as an off-ball linebacker, but also gets looks as a two-point edge rusher and has proven to be effective in a spy role."
"Flashes impressive closing burst and a wide tackling range...Tends to take on blocks with conviction, but can also bypass them with his bend...Sneaky on delayed blitz calls while superb get-off creates easy access when attacking from the corner."
The Huskies have had a lot of success deploying sophomore Zaydrius Rainey-Sale in a similar role to what the younger Gray thrives in, and as Walters continues to attempt to put his players in advantageous positions, Gray would be a great fit for Washington's front seven.
