SUPCON Technology, the Hangzhou-based industrial automation and AI company, has adopted QwenWork, Alibaba's enterprise AI agent product, starting with its marketing operations. The two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement on October 16, attended by SUPCON vice president Shi Xiaolei, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group vice president Zhang Jing and QwenWork vice president Zhu Hong, according to Chinese tech outlet Leiphone.
Founded in 1999, SUPCON describes itself as an industrial AI platform company built on industrial data, with large models at its core and agents deployed across scenarios. It focuses on process industries such as chemicals and petrochemicals, and says it has more than 40,000 customers in over 50 countries and regions.
The first project covers what the companies call the full marketing chain, from collecting market leads to final payment collection. SUPCON said its frontline sales staff often spent the day visiting customers and the evening writing materials, and that a solution proposal could take more than five days from on-site research to a finished document. With QwenWork handling market research and drawing on the company's in-house expert knowledge, SUPCON says that time has dropped to about one day, an efficiency gain of roughly five times. The figures are the company's own.
SUPCON plans to bring QwenWork into procurement, supply chain, finance, human resources, R&D and compliance work. It also intends to use QwenWork's skills feature to package years of sales experience into an AI marketing skill library that other companies in the process industry could reuse.
Alibaba opened QwenWork to public beta on August 3, combining its earlier QoderWork, Wukong and MuleRun agent products into a single workplace platform. Alibaba says QwenWork passed 30 million users in its first month, with enterprise users making up more than half. Other named enterprise users include Changan Automobile, FAW Toyota, Yihai Kerry Arawana and Transfar Group.
The SUPCON deal follows QwenWork's e-commerce edition, which entered invite-only testing earlier this week, as Alibaba pushes the product into industry-specific work.
