Buterin outlines ambitious Ethereum upgrade plan for 2030

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has announced an ambitious strategy aimed at upgrading the Ethereum network by 2030. The plan focuses on implementing zero-knowledge proofs and enhancing throughput to improve the network’s capacity and security. This announcement is part of a broader roadmap that includes innovations such as recursive STARKs and improved consensus mechanisms, designed to make Ethereum more scalable and privacy-focused. While these are roadmap goals rather than immediate changes, Buterin’s announcement appears to have influenced market sentiment regarding Ethereum’s future price trajectory.

Market participants are currently evaluating the potential impact of these proposed upgrades on Ethereum’s price. At the time of the announcement, Ethereum traded between $2,526 and $2,560, with a market capitalization hovering near $310 billion. The pricing in prediction markets suggests that Buterin’s strategy could enhance investor optimism about Ethereum’s ability to reach higher price targets by the end of October 2026.

Key markets tracking Ethereum’s price movements show varied expectations, with some suggesting moderate increases in the likelihood of Ethereum reaching $3,300 by the end of the month. Current market sentiment appears influenced by Buterin’s outlined upgrades and their potential to attract increased network activity and investment interest.
