The United Nations in Afghanistan has expressed concern over the deportation of adolescents from Iran, stressing the need to invest in education and provide support for children.
In a post on X on Sunday, October 18, the UN said that no child should have to choose between working and experiencing childhood.
The organization called for urgent investment in education, child protection, and the provision of suitable opportunities for children.
In recent years, large numbers of Afghan migrants have returned from Iran, including children and adolescents who had been working to help support their families.
The return of these children has increased the need to ensure their access to education and social support, as well as livelihood opportunities for their families.
