Even by Caribbean standards, the beaches in Punta Cana are spectacular, but the fun-loving resort town in Dominican Republic has plenty more to offer than just sandy strolls. Natural wonders including majestic mountains and ancient caves will inspire pure adventure, while the lively local bars and welcoming rum distilleries will swiftly get the party started.
Bringing more than a touch of luxury to the area is the brand-new Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana, where you’ll find suites with private hot tubs and round-the-clock service, a chic spa with luxe treatments and an adults-only pool club with live DJs.
Tempted? Between December and May, the weather’s generally dry and sunny in the Dominican Republic, so put Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana top of your list for a winter or early spring getaway.
Better still, book with British Airways Holidays and you'll enjoy a quality, great value holiday that's ATOL protected from the moment you book.

Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana
With its chic interiors, sweeping views and ultra-modern facilities, Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana was designed to offer an elevated take on a resort holiday in the Dominican Republic.
Across the dazzling resort, there are opulent themed bars, including a 1920-inspired jazz speakeasy and a low-lit tiki bar serving delectable Polynesian-influenced drinks. Among the 19 restaurants are a Japanese-style izakaya, modern Italian trattoria, stylish Mexican cantina and even a street food alley for when you’re in a snacky kind of mood.
If you’re finding it hard to tear yourself away from the scenic views or personal whirlpool in your accommodation, opt for the 24/7 in-room dining service instead.
Every corner of this resort is beautiful — from the marble floor, swirling ceiling and lit-up, wraparound bar in the lobby to the curvaceous pools lined with luscious palms and cabanas. If you’re looking for the wow factor, this is it.

Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana
Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana has nine swimming pools, including the peaceful, adults-only Serenity Pool (complete with a swim-up bar) and the Jungle Pool, set among swathes of tropical greenery. Taking a dip every day comes as standard, but there’s plenty more to keep you active during your stay.
Practice your swing on the Greg Norman-approved 18-hole golf course, which is set among 120 acres of stunning natural landscape. There’s also a fitness centre to support your usual yoga, boxing or spin routine, as well as courts for tennis, padel or pickleball.
If this all sounds too taxing, book into O Spa – the resort’s divine spa – for a diamond cocoon facial, four-hands massage or deluxe pedicure. Follow that with a few hours relaxing at the adults-only pool club, where you’ll find live DJs playing chill-out tunes and too many tempting rum cocktails.

Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana

And they’re by no means an afterthought: as well as a magical, forest-themed kids’ restaurant, there are menus (and mocktails) aimed at little visitors wherever you’re eating in the resort.
A two-floor, pirate-themed play area will delight young children on a sugar high from having access to bottomless ice cream, while teens can hit the bowling alley, try surfing on the wave simulator and get to grips with classic arcade games.
Add in multiple waterslides, a lazy river and the opportunity for a princess makeover in the spa and you’ve got an unforgettable holiday for every member of the clan. Better still, in 2027 you'll also be able to watch live entertainment in a brand-new theatre.
