After two standout performances that had kept the team in contention for the WNBA title, Game 4 of the Finals ended very differently for Atlanta’s star, who struggled to find her rhythm on the court.
The Golden State Valkyries secured a 67-62 victory, tied the series, and put Reese at the center of criticism over her offensive struggles.
Angel Reese fires up Atlanta with statement block in a losing effort at the WNBA Finals
Angel Reese had a difficult afternoon
Reese finished the game with just eight points and nine rebounds after making only two of her 12 field-goal attempts, shooting 16.7%. Her struggles to find the basket made a significant difference in a game where every score could have brought Atlanta closer to victory.

Foul trouble and turnovers added to her difficulties, further complicating her performance. Although the loss reflected the Dream’s overall performance, Reese’s individual numbers drew particular attention given the contrast with her previous outings.
Atlanta had an opportunity to take the series lead and move closer to the championship, but ultimately fell to a Valkyries team that took advantage of the result to even things up.
Yahoo delivers harsh criticism of Angel Reese
The Atlanta star’s performance did not go unnoticed by journalist Landon Kardian, who published an article on Yahoo with a blunt headline: “Angel Reese Just Embarrassed Herself on the Biggest Stage,” a phrase that sharply questions her performance in the game.
The criticism focused on her offensive struggles and inability to consistently convert the opportunities she had near the basket.
The WNBA Finals will be decided in Game 5
Following this difficult performance, the championship could be decided on Monday, October 26, when the two teams meet at Chase Center in San Francisco.
