An exhibition exploring the history and heritage of Zagreb’s Mirogoj Cemetery has opened at the Zagreb City Museum, marking 150 years since the cemetery first opened.
Titled Mirogoj – 150 Years of Remembrance, the exhibition was prepared to commemorate the anniversary of one of the Croatian capital’s most significant historical and architectural sites.
Created by Ana Vranić Rob, the exhibition presents the cemetery’s historical development, architectural features, artistic value and role as a place of remembrance through 15 exhibition panels.

The exhibition was officially opened by Zagreb Deputy Mayor Luka Korlaet, who highlighted the importance of preserving and presenting Mirogoj’s cultural heritage.
Korlaet also praised Vranić Rob’s long-standing work in the protection of the cemetery, noting that the exhibition would give the public an opportunity to explore its significance at several locations across the city.

Mirogoj is an important part of Zagreb’s history, art history and architectural heritage. The exhibition has been designed as a travelling display, allowing it to reach visitors beyond the museum itself.
It will be on view at the Zagreb City Museum from 19 to 29 October before moving to Mirogoj Cemetery, where it will be displayed from 31 October to 6 November.
The exhibition will then move to Zrinjevac Park, where visitors can see it from 8 to 22 November.
