Texans wide receiver Tank Dell has not played since a horrific knee injury in a Dec. 21, 2024, game against the Chiefs. He missed all of the 2025 season and the start of this season.
Dell, though, is nearing a return.
General Manager Nick Caserio said on 95.7 The Fan on Wednesday that, barring a setback, Dell should return this week or next week.
Dell was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, the first time that has happened since his injury. The Texans opened Dell’s 21-day return-to-practice window on Oct. 5.
Dell, a 2023 third-round pick, caught 98 passes for 1,376 yards and 10 touchdowns through his first 25 career games before the injury.
The Texans practiced without linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (groin), safety Jalen Pitre (shoulder), offensive tackle Trent Brown (knee) and running back David Montgomery (groin).
Wide receiver Nico Collins (rest), safety Ja’Marcus Ingram (elbow), tight end Dalton Schultz (rest), defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (knee), defensive end Logan Hall (rest), linebacker Henry To’oTo’o (shoulder) and defensive end Will Anderson Jr. (rest) were limited.
Linebacker Wade Woodaz (thumb) was a full participant.
