The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has distributed an additional 59 recycling bins to residents of Osborne Foreshore Estate as part of efforts to promote waste sorting and recycling under its Waste-Free Lagos Pilot Scheme.
The authority disclosed this in a post on its official X account, stating that the latest distribution took place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, alongside the collection of recyclable materials from bins previously provided to households.
According to LAWMA, a total of 250 recycling bins have been distributed since the initiative began on October 3, 2026, as the authority intensifies efforts to encourage residents to separate recyclable materials from other waste at source.
The authority said the scheme was designed to promote responsible waste disposal and support more sustainable waste management practices across Lagos State.

Through continued engagement with residents, collection of recyclable materials and distribution of dedicated recycling bins, LAWMA said it was working to encourage a culture of recycling and maintain a cleaner environment.
The authority urged residents to embrace the principles of reducing, reusing and recycling waste, stressing that keeping Lagos clean requires collective responsibility.
“Waste-Free Lagos starts with us. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Keep Lagos Clean,” LAWMA said.
