Inside the Fidel Odinga house
The single-storey residence sits on a lush green lawn dotted with trees and low shrubs.
The home features a multi-gabled roof covered in reddish-pink tiles, giving it a warm and welcoming character.
The left wing showcases beige stone-textured cladding on the lower walls with white upper walls and black security bars on the windows, while the right side is painted white with bright yellow accents framing the windows and an open porch entryway.
Inside, the house is modestly but neatly furnished, with grey seats and a matching table lending the space a calm, understated feel.
The most striking detail in the interior is a portrait of Fidel, positioned prominently within the home, serving as a constant reminder of the man being honoured.
The video captured the moment Junior walked Ida through the completed house, with the two pausing near Fidel's portrait in what was clearly an emotional exchange.
Fidel Odinga, the eldest son of former prime minister Raila Odinga and Ida, passed away in January 2015 at the age of 41.
Junior's gesture struck a chord with followers who flooded the comments section with warm messages.
@jsakaja simply wrote:
"Thank you."
@jaanin2020 added:
"May Fidel's soul continue resting in peace."
@biko_therapist described it as a meaningful act of brotherhood, writing:
"What a way to honour your elder brother!! I'm sure mama is also happy! May Fidel continue resting in peace."
@viviankay457 directed her words at both Junior and Ida:
"God bless you, Junior. I really love mama; I pray to sit with her someday soon."
The house stands as a lasting tribute from a younger brother determined to keep his elder's memory alive, and as a gift to a mother who has carried the weight of that loss for over a decade.
