PARTI Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has restructured its Sarawak leadership as part of efforts to strengthen its state election machinery and improve coordination between its state and central leadership.
The changes were agreed at a meeting between PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Sarawak branch leaders on Saturday, with Mahmud Epah appointed chairman of the Sarawak State Leadership Council (MPN).
PKR secretary-general Dr Fuziah Salleh said the meeting had endorsed several measures focused on electoral strategy and grassroots operations ahead of the 13th Sarawak State Election.
“To streamline the state machinery, the meeting agreed to a leadership restructuring, officially naming Mahmud Epah as the new Sarawak State Leadership Council (MPN) chairman,” she said in a statement on Sunday.
Ahmad Nazib Johari will continue his role in strengthening ties between the party’s central leadership and its Sabah and Sarawak networks.
Fuziah said the arrangement aligned with PKR’s broader focus on reinforcing its political networks in both regions.
The restructuring comes as PKR prepares its state-level organisation and election operations ahead of the upcoming Sarawak polls. - October 18, 2026
