Game 3 of the 2026 WNBA Finals between the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream took place on Wednesday night.
When all was said and done, the Dream went 2-1 up in the series, securing a 97-71 victory on the night.
However, a lot of the attention on social media has once again centred on the players walking off the court pregame ahead of the national anthem playing.
Both teams had already exited the court in games one and two before the national anthem. They received backlash at the time and that negativity has continued after the latest walk-off.
Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream leave court for national anthem again
OutKick shared a video of the players leaving the court on Wednesday, writing in the caption: “Third straight game. The Valkyries and Dream keep finding the exit when it’s time to honour the country. What an embarrassment.”
Other fans have since responded to the initial post to express their anger.
One fan stated: “This is why I watch CC and Sophie, and only CC and Sophie moving forward.”
Another wrote: “Agree! Embarrassing! People should not go and watch any games!”
A third suggested: “Don’t spend money there,” while another commented: “Don’t watch on TV and don’t go to the games, very simple.”
Game 4 of the series is now scheduled to take place later this week on October 24.
