LTM, an IT services and consulting company, has launched its BlueVerse Industrial AI Lab in Chennai to help enterprises develop and validate AI solutions for industrial operations and intelligent products.
According to LTM, the lab will let clients, technology partners, and its teams develop, simulate, and validate solutions before deployment. The company said the facility is designed for industrial sites with legacy equipment, limited connectivity and hazardous working conditions.
Moving industrial AI from pilots to production remains a challenge because systems must adapt to individual facilities. On-site deployment is a key hurdle for industrial AI.
LTM said the lab will combine its industrial AI solutions, intellectual property and patents with manufacturing-focused small language models. Its capabilities will include multispectral computer vision, edge devices, digital twins and industrial AI agents to support operational decision-making.
A dedicated robotics zone will support work on autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robots and drones for inspection and material handling. Safety remains a key consideration in AI-powered robotics, especially when machines operate alongside workers.
The lab will also support engineering and testing for consumer electronics and medical technology devices, covering embedded software, on-device AI, interoperability, reliability, performance and applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
“As industrial businesses look to shorten time to market, increase operational availability, improve worker safety and strengthen regulatory compliance, Industrial AI offers powerful levers to achieve these goals,” said Gururaj Deshpande, Chief Delivery Officer at LTM.
The launch follows other efforts by Indian IT services companies to bring AI into manufacturing. In September, Tech Mahindra partnered with industrial technology company Infinite Uptime to bring physical AI into manufacturing workflows.
LTM said its industrial AI teams, domain practitioners, technology partners and start-up ecosystem had collectively scaled more than 100 industrial AI solutions worldwide.
