Kyle Kennedy, granddaughter of Robert F. “Bobby” Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, died at age 42. She died on Sept. 21 at her home in Westwood, Massachusetts, according to her obituary, while the cause of death remains pending.
Her death has drawn attention to a member of the Kennedy family whose work centered on education reform and disability advocacy rather than public office or political life.
Kennedy was one of 34 grandchildren of the late Kennedy family matriarch and patriarch and was the daughter of Michael Kennedy, who died in a 1997 skiing accident, and Victoria Denise Gifford.
In the final years of her life, Kennedy became a prominent advocate for people living with disabilities after suffering a severe spinal cord injury that resulted in long-term paralysis.
