The Utah Utes' defensive tackle Jamal Wallace has been suspended indefinitely while facing an investigation into allegations of rape and forcible sodomy as the player was arrested earlier this month over an alleged incident involving the sharing of videos.
Although he has not been criminally charged with rape or sodomy, Wallace was arrested on October 11 and released on $5000 bail as police in Salt Lake City reportedly recovered footage they believe he recorded and sent to five people through Snapchat.

Wallace has denied the allegations and according to TMZ, the accusations stem from a woman's account that he forced her to perform oral sex after the pair discussed the status of their relationship.
Wallace allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck before forcing her to perform the sex act and recorded the encounter and police reportedly found videos connected to the alleged incident and believe he was responsible for recording them.
However, the investigation remains ongoing, Utah confirmed that Wallace had been removed from the program shortly after the university learned of the situation as the suspension took effect on October 11.
That was the same day as his reported arrest, and remains indefinite while the legal process develops.
“We were made aware of the situation with Jamal Wallace on Oct. 11,” the Utes said to TMZ. “And he was immediately placed on an indefinite suspension from the program. We take these matters seriously.
"As this is a pending legal matter we have no further comment at this time.”

Utah's unbeaten season overshadowed by allegations
Wallace transferred to Utah from Tennessee Volunteers ahead of the current season and he has appeared in 10 games since 2024 and recorded seven tackles, but his immediate future with the Utes is now uncertain as the investigation continues.
The case has emerged as Utah enjoys one of its strongest starts in recent years as the Utes improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in Big 12 play after surviving a dramatic 27-24 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes.
Extending their winning streak to 12 consecutive games dating back to last season, Utah entered the rivalry matchup as a 15-point favorite and led 13-0 at halftime as Devon Dampier threw three touchdown passes.
The Utes held off a late Colorado rally to preserve their unbeaten record after an illegal forward pass penalty erased a potentially significant gain during a late lateral play by Deion Sanders' team. Utah then defended the Buffaloes' final pass attempt to secure the victory.
The result marked Utah's best start since 2015 and left the team with the longest active winning streak in the FBS. However, Wallace's suspension has shifted attention away from on field towards an extremely serious investigation.
