Vive Latino 2027 in Mexico City on 13 and 14 March

MEXICO · FESTIVALS

Vive Latino 2027 will fill Mexico City with rock, ska, reggae and hip-hop on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 March 2027. For US fans it is a chance to see a major Latin American rock festival, which last year booked Lenny Kravitz.

So far the organisers have announced only the dates, in a social-media post that carried just the hashtag #VL27. The lineup, prices and sale dates are still to come, so this guide sets out what is confirmed and what to expect.

What Vive Latino Is and Why It Matters

Vive Latino is Mexico City’s annual rock festival, officially called the Festival Iberoamericano de Cultura Musical. It began in 1998, and the 2027 show will be the 27th edition, La Silla Rota and Récord report.

The festival mixes rock, ska, reggae, rap, urban and alternative music by Mexican, Ibero-American and international artists. Ibero-American means from Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries, including Spain and Portugal.

Last year’s edition ran on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March 2026, with five stages and a wrestling ring. Lenny Kravitz was scheduled for the Saturday night and The Smashing Pumpkins for the Sunday, UnoTV reported.

Mexican rock acts such as Molotov, Zoé and Enjambre shared that bill, along with the Colombian singer Juanes. Descubre en México lists them among the 2026 headliners.

The 2027 dates were revealed on Thursday 10 September 2026, with a social-media post that showed only the hashtag #VL27. La Silla Rota says the lineup will be announced in the last three months of the year.

For a US visitor, the appeal is the mix of classic Mexican rock and a few English-language names. Vive Latino 2027 is a long two-day event, so it works best as a full weekend trip.

The Venue and How to Get There

Récord and La Silla Rota place Vive Latino 2027 at Estadio GNP Seguros, the stadium called Foro Sol until 2024. UnoTV noted on Friday 11 September 2026 that the venue was still waiting for official confirmation.

Sopitas adds that the official announcement image names no venue, so treat the stadium as likely rather than certain. The stadium sits in Iztacalco, an eastern borough, beside the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez racetrack.

Last year’s festival used Gate 6 of the stadium and Gate 15 of the racetrack, UnoTV reported on Saturday 14 March 2026. Doors opened at 1 p.m., and the last sets finished at 2 a.m. on both nights.

The nearest Metro stops are Ciudad Deportiva and Puebla on Line 9, and Ciudad Deportiva also has a trolleybus stop. Metrobús Line 2 serves UPIICSA and Iztacalco, a walk from Gate 15.

A Metro ride costs 5 pesos (about US$0.27) and Metrobús 6 pesos (about US$0.33), Récord reported on Thursday 4 June 2026. This guide converts pesos at 18.45 to the US dollar, the rate on Tuesday 20 October 2026.

Last year the Metro ran until midnight both nights, with no extra hours, La Razón said. Because sets ran until 2 a.m., plan a ride-hailing app or a hotel-booked taxi for the trip back.

Parking at the racetrack lots cost 550 pesos (about US$30) last year, UnoTV said. Fans who drive should expect long queues to leave, so a Metro ride before midnight is usually faster.

Tickets, Prices and Sale Dates

No tickets for Vive Latino 2027 are on sale yet, and the organisers have named no seller, presale partner or price. Treat any listing you see today as unofficial.

Last year’s pattern is the best guide. The 2026 prices came out on 16 October 2025, a few days after the lineup, El Financiero reported.

Ticketmaster México was the seller last year, with a presale for cardholders of Banamex, a Mexican bank, on 17 October 2025. General sale followed on 18 October 2025 at 2 p.m.

The cheapest general pass for both days started at 3,000 pesos (about US$163) plus service fees, El Financiero said. Sales ran in three phases, and the priciest tickets were sold in only one of them.

Sopitas guesses that the Vive Latino 2027 lineup could land around mid-October, but it calls that its own estimate. The festival has not confirmed any date for the announcement.

Be careful with refunds. Moby, NAFTA and The Mars Volta quit the 2026 lineup, and Ticketmaster gave no refunds, El Financiero reported on 13 March 2026.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors

US citizens need a valid passport to enter Mexico, and a passport card cannot be used to board a plane. A visa is required only for stays of more than 180 days.

All travellers must also get an FMM, Mexico’s tourist entry permit, online or at an immigration office. Mexican authorities issue a digital version at every international airport, the State Department adds.

The State Department rates Mexico City at Level 2, exercise increased caution, in its advisory of 29 May 2026. It says both violent and petty crime occur in the city, so keep valuables hidden and stay alert, especially at night.

It also warns travellers not to hail taxis on the street. Use ride-hailing apps or taxis booked through your hotel, and carry little cash.

Mexico City sits at 2,240 metres (about 7,350 feet) above sea level, the city’s tourism office says. Drink plenty of water, go easy on alcohol and rest if you feel short of breath or dizzy.

Last year’s rules allowed bags up to 30 by 30 centimetres (about 12 inches), sunscreen up to 100 millilitres and simple cameras. Umbrellas, professional cameras, glass and outside food and drink were banned, UnoTV reported.

Children could enter with an adult, and anyone from age three needed a ticket. Bring a sweater, because nights in Mexico City turn cool and the shows end at 2 a.m.

In an emergency, dial 911 in Mexico and ask a Spanish speaker to place the call. The city’s information line, Locatel, offers English service if you press 6.

Make It a Longer Trip

Two other big shows are planned for Mexico City in the weeks before Vive Latino 2027. The rock band U2 plays Estadio GNP Seguros on Tuesday 23 and Friday 26 February 2027, adn40 reported.

The Electric Daisy Carnival dance festival fills the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 February 2027, Excélsior reported. Our guides cover U2 in Mexico City and Electric Daisy Carnival in Mexico City.

What Is Not Confirmed Yet

The Vive Latino 2027 lineup is not out, and no artist has been named for either night. La Silla Rota expects the lineup to be announced in the last three months of the year.

Ticket prices for Vive Latino 2027, the seller and the presale partner are all unannounced. The same goes for the stage layout, the daily schedule and the gate opening time.

The venue is also unconfirmed by the organisers, even though several Mexican outlets expect Estadio GNP Seguros. Every last-year detail in this guide, from doors at 1 p.m. to the bag rules, may change for 2027.
