CLEVELAND — The Cleveland weather is wreaking more havoc on the American League Championship Series schedule.
Game 4 of the best-of-seven ALCS between the Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays was scheduled for 8:08 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Progressive Field, but inclement weather has changed those plans.
The Guardians and Rays are now scheduled to play Saturday and Sunday, meaning there's no longer an off day if the series returns to Florida for Game 6 on Monday.
The Guardians have a 2-1 series lead after winning Game 3.
When is the Guardians game tomorrow?
Now Game 4 is slated to be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, and Game 5 is set to take place on Sunday, Oct. 18. First pitch for Game 4 is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday. First pitch for Game 5 is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday.
The postponement of Game 4 and the new times for Games 4 and 5 were announced at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in the Guardians press box at Progressive Field.
The scheduling change also means that if Game 6 becomes necessary, there won't be an off day while teams travel between Games 5 and 6 from Cleveland to Tampa Bay.
Inclement weather also forced MLB to move Game 3 from 6 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Major League Baseball waited until the last possible second to postpone Game 4, but the weather finally left them with no choice.
