RB Leipzig left for Spain on Tuesday where they face a huge Champions League test of character at record winners Real Madrid.
Getting a result at Bernabéu Stadium is a difficult task on any given day, but Leipzig are coming off a 6-1 Bundesliga humiliation at Bayern Munich and also lost their first away game in Europe 4-1 at Como.
Losing again would not be the end of the world but club bosses will have a close look at the attitude of the players of coach Martin Demichelis.
Board member for sport Marcel Schäfer fumed that the players "had not even remotely fought back during the entire match" in Munich.
"We must learn from it and continue," midfielder Nicolas Seiwald urged.
Wednesday's match is Leipzig's third trip to Real. They lost 2-0 in the 2022-23 group stage and reached a credible 1-1 in the last 16 a season later, but that was not good enough to overturn a 1-0 home defeat from the first leg.
Leipzig's defence collapsed in Munich and will now face the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior and possibly Yan Diomande, who left Leipzig for Real in summer for around €125 million ($140 million).
Lukas Klostermann will likely be benched again after a shocking performance in Munich, with Ridle Baku to take his place again.
Leipzig set their hopes on midfielder Christoph Baumgartner, who completed the full training on Tuesday and could return from a thigh muscle injury that has sidelined him since June. The Austrian was a key player with 13 goals and 10 assists last season and could bring much-needed stability.
