Shillong, Oct 22: A six-member Team Meghalaya will compete at the 41st National Junior Athletics Championship 2026, scheduled to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru (JN) Stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from November 23 to 27.
The contingent, representing the Meghalaya Athletics Association, comprises six young athletes competing in track and field events across two age categories. The team includes three Under-20 (U-20) athletes and three Under-18 (U-18) competitors.
Three officials — Daisy Marwein, Pleasantly Synnah and Sumit Kumar — will accompany the athletes to the national championship to provide guidance and support throughout the competition.
The championship will bring together junior athletes from across the country, offering Meghalaya’s young competitors an opportunity to test their abilities at the national level.
The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, has extended its best wishes to the contingent as the athletes prepare to represent the state at the five-day event.
