Police are hunting a group of about 15 people after a Kypseli school attack left an 18-year-old evening-school student with a stab wound to the shoulder.
Unknown attackers targeted two students of the 6th Evening Lyceum, on Samou Street in Kypseli, central Athens.
The Hellenic Police said the school’s principal called them at about 7pm on Monday. During the call, the principal reported an incident between students and non-students in the schoolyard.
Both students hurt in the Kypseli school attack are 18 and of Egyptian origin. Police said a group of about 15 people targeted them.
An attacker stabbed one student in the right shoulder blade.
When officers from the DIAS police motorcycle unit arrived, they applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.
The second student also suffered light facial injuries from a punch.
The stabbed student remains in Georgios Gennimatas hospital and is out of danger.
However, the motives for the Kypseli school attack remain unclear. Police are investigating so they can arrest those responsible.
Previously, in December 2025, police investigated a stabbing incident between female students at another Kypseli school.
