Three other Scots battling to keep DP World Tour cards also get into DP World India Championship field
Bob MacIntyre has added this week’s DP World India Championship to his schedule after securing a late invitation for the $4 million event in Delhi.
The Oban man seemed to have no intention of joining the likes of defending champion Tommy Fleetwood and back-to-back Masters winner Rory McIlroy in the field at the end of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship a week past Sunday.
He talked about how it was potentially going to be a “quiet two-and-a-half months” due to the fact he has still to make a decision about the two season-ending Play-Offs in the Middle East next month.

However, MacIntyre then sat down to think things over last week and decided it made sense to make the trip to India and try and improve his position in the Race to Dubai Ranking.
After the Open de Espana, he slipped six spots to 58th and needs to be in the top 70 to make the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship at Yas Links on 5-8 November.
The top 50 after that will then go forward to the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
By at least getting into the top 50 come Sunday night, MacIntyre would be in a better position to make his big call about whether or not to make the trip to the Middle East.
For three other Scots - Euan Walker, Daniel Young and Cameron Adam - getting into the India line up as well through their respective cards could be season-defining.
The trio are all currently below the card cut-off line and need to get inside the top 100 by the end of next week’s Genesis Championship in Korea and, based on the fact they all sat out last week’s Open de Espana won by Grant Forrest, being in that field is far from a certainty.
