In what can only be described as a best-case scenario for DK Metcalf's Week 6 injury status, the Pittsburgh Steelers received some great news for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to Steelers Senior Director of Communications Burt Lauten, Metcalf (illness) has been removed from the Week 6 injury report and will play against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Metcalf, who was traded to the Steelers in March 2025, has had a slow and inconsistent start to his second year with Pittsburgh, catching just 19 passes for 225 yards and one touchdown while being responsible for key drops earlier in the season.
Although Metcalf is now available in Week 6, the Steelers' wide receiver woes are still extremely worrisome, as two wideouts were ruled out for Sunday's game and another remains on injured reserve.
We at Steelers Wire remain committed to providing important injury updates like Metcalf's healthy designation for Week 6. Fans should follow along for any more injury news on some of the other players on Pittsburgh's roster.
