A motorcyclist was killed after a truck hit his motorcycle along the East-West Highway in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-8, Makwanpur.
The accident occurred near Gumba Chowk in Hetauda-8 on Wednesday morning when a truck (Ga 1 Kha 9424), travelling in the same direction, hit a motorcycle (Na 42 Pa 7283).
The motorcyclist, 55-year-old Shyam Kumar Tamang of HID, Hetauda-9, sustained serious injuries in the collision.
He was rescued and taken to Hetauda Hospital for treatment, where he died during treatment, police said.
Police have taken the truck driver, 44-year-old Nageshwar Mahato of Dhankaul Rural Municipality-1, Sarlahi, into custody.
Police said further investigation into the accident is underway.
