Nairobi United striker Syphas Otieno is targeting individual
glory and team success as he looks to help the club challenge for the Kenyan
Premier League (KPL) title this season.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Otieno said his priorities are
scoring goals, providing assists and helping Nairobi United compete for top
honours as the new campaign gets underway.
“As a striker, my main objective is to score goals, provide
assists and help the team to win the league. People have been waiting for the
season to start, and different teams have prepared differently. What matters is
the effort put in to go all the way and win the title,” he said.
Nairobi United opened their campaign with a 2-2 draw against
KCB, earning a point as they begin their push for a strong league finish.
The result placed Nairobi United fifth in the early
standings, while Tusker FC moved top with three points after a 2-0 victory over
Ulinzi Stars.
Otieno will now be looking to turn his ambitions into goals
on the pitch as Nairobi United seek to establish themselves among the league’s
leading sides and mount a serious challenge for silverware.
