KUALA LUMPUR: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) recorded seven cases of people trespassing on railway tracks between January and September this year, disrupting train services.
In the latest incident, an SUV entered the tracks at Port Klang Station on Sunday, causing delays to train services.
KTMB said the vehicle entered the tracks through a level crossing gate. The driver was not injured. The vehicle was removed and the tracks cleared.
An inspection found no damage to the railway tracks, signalling systems or overhead line equipment, it said.
A video showing the SUV on the tracks went viral on social media.
KTMB warned that trespassing, vandalism and cable theft could disrupt train services and endanger passengers and railway personnel.
Damaging railway property are serious offences under the Railways Act 1991 and the Land Public Transport Act 2010, which provide for penalties including fines, imprisonment or both upon conviction, it said in a statement.
