DAEJEON — An exhibition offering a look at the lesser-known artistic side of South Korea's banknote designers is set to open.
The Korea Minting, Security Printing and ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO) said on Oct. 12 that it will hold the 6th Eoulrim Exhibition for three weeks from Oct. 13 to Nov. 1 in the special exhibition hall of its Currency Museum, marking the company's 75th anniversary. It is the first such show in five years, following the exhibition held for the 70th anniversary.
The Eoulrim Exhibition brings together designers from the Design Research Center at KOMSCO's Technology Research Institute, who design the country's currency, and designers at the company's Seoul sales office. Visitors can view a range of individual works by the designers, including paintings, sculptures and graphic art.
"I hope visitors will experience the boundless imagination and creativity of our currency designers at the Currency Museum," KOMSCO President Sung Chang-hoon said.
From Oct. 13 to 16, staff from the Design Research Center will be on site to explain the works to visitors.
