Chris Shea was named chief legal and administrative officer of Falls Church, Va.-based Longitude Health, a company formed by five health systems.
Longitude’s members are Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health, Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System, Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medicine, Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health and Renton, Wash.-based Providence.
Mr. Shea will lead Longitude’s legal, compliance and risk management functions, according to an Oct. 21 news release. He most recently held the same title at MedQuest Imaging and previously spent more than a decade at Memorial Hermann, most recently as deputy general counsel and health plan general counsel.
Longitude Health builds shared capabilities, which it calls utilities, for its member systems, including pharmacy, clinical trials, and cell and gene therapy services. Its board is made up of the five member systems’ CEOs and is chaired by Baylor Scott & White CEO Pete McCanna.
