Guwahati, Oct 22: A minor girl from Mahimari village in Assam’s South Kamrup district, who had allegedly been abducted, was rescued in Tamil Nadu after 15 days. Police confirmed that Abdul Mannan, a resident of Chautara, was arrested in Hosur in connection with the case.
Authorities stated that Mannan allegedly enticed the girl with the promise of marriage before taking her away. After her disappearance, the family lodged a complaint at Goroimari Police Station, which led to an immediate investigation.
A police team headed by Assistant Sub-Inspector Pabitra Kalita, under the supervision of Officer-in-Charge Abdul Momin, travelled to Tamil Nadu as part of the search operation. Their efforts resulted in the successful rescue of the girl and the arrest of the accused, who is now in custody.
