A super commuter working in tech sales regularly travels by plane from Los Angeles to San Francisco just to get ready for work by 8:30 a.m.
Angelique Khieu, 26, works a hybrid job and has to be in office three days a week.
A viral TikTok video posted by Khieu shows her commuting from her job at 6 a.m. from LAX and taking the San Francisco metro at 7:45 a.m. before making it to work by 8:30 a.m.
“As for the commute back, I do everything again, just in reverse,” she told PEOPLE. She also said that she has homes in both cities so she sometimes spends the night in the Bay Area.
“Even when I was a kid, I’d be so excited to go to the airport on vacation that I wouldn’t sleep the night before.
“I still enjoy traveling, and after a while, you don’t even think twice about always being at the airport or airplane,” she continued to say.
The comment section under the TikTok video had some users in disbelief, with one person writing, “Jesus! I drive 18 minutes and complain to myself.” Other users, however, shared they had similar experiences.
During the first half of the year, Khieu took the far commute nearly every week, with flights reaching “between six to 10 flights a month.”
She even shared that there are days where she has to book her flights a “day before I leave.” One time, her flight got delayed, so she ended up renting a car and driving up with four other people.
Khieu currently has over 11,000 followers on her TikTok and is a Business Account Executive at Google, according to her LinkedIn.
Khieu graduated from UCLA as a Sociology major in 2023 and started working for Google in January after previously being at NetSuite in Santa Monica for nearly two years.
She also worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta as a Lead Research Panel Coordinator.
