The South Madras Cultural Association (SMCA) organised an open quiz for participants aged 18 and above as part of its 48th annual Durga Puja celebrations, Sharodotsav, on October 20.
A press release said that over 60 teams participated in the preliminary round, of which six qualified for the final. Hosted by R. Arvind of X Quiz It, with co-quizmasters Mahesh and Ajay, the quiz tested participants’ knowledge and lateral thinking. Questions ranged from the story behind Jaipur’s Quarter flag to the meaning and origins of the term ‘dogfooding’.
The duo of Jayakanthan and Sankya won the first place, followed by Naveen and Praveen in second place, and Raja and Aswath in third. SMCA vice-president Anita Ramesh presented trophies to the winning teams. The top three teams received cash prizes, while the other finalists were recognised for their performances.
