Aaron Rodgers' brother, Luke Rodgers, shared a snapshot of a special moment with their family over the weekend. Luke came to support Aaron during the Pittsburgh Steelers matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Oct. 18.
"Last weekend was pretty special," Luke captioned the photos with his brother and children at the game.
Aaron commented on the post, " Planes, trains, and renegade! also misspelled cakes."
"The best weekend!" Luke's wife, Aimee, commented on the post. "Also, I want to be sure everyone knows, I cut a huge slit down that poncho, so Bella was only covered by my hand and not by any plastic! I feel like I need to be proactive about that."
The photos showed the family wrapped in plastic ponchos to combat the rainy and windy weather during the game. Aaron posed with his niece Evie and nephew Jack on the sidelines. Luke and Aimee have three children after recently welcoming their baby girl in August.
The post also showed some clips of the children cheering on their uncle in the suite as they rocked their Steelers gear. Luke added some at-home moments as well, celebrating a birthday and Aaron playing with trains with Jack.
The photo follows Aaron's own post with his parents, Luke, and his niece and nephew in July. The Steelers quarterback spoke about what it meant to him to have his family by his side after a years-long estrangement.
“I’m happy to be reunited, and that part of my life is a really beautiful addition, and I gotta give my wife a lot of credit for — not that she was pushing me because she never was — but just the way she loves and supports me, having her by my side throughout this process has been really special, and I miss those relationships,” he recalled in conversation with NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt.
“It’s been really beautiful to reconnect with them — all of them,” he said. “I got to spend a long weekend recently with my parents … my brother and his sweet wife and their incredible two kids. I got to be an uncle.”
While Luke shared photos of the family, Aaron revealed that he will "never" post them again.
“There’s been a narrative out there,” he said, referencing news about the strained relationship with his family per USA Today. “There’s not been a lot of information that’s truthful about it. And I think that the personal life should stay personal and private."
“But I feel like it was part of the full-circle to just one time post something, and never again,” he added. “So that that narrative can finally be put to rest.”
This is Aaron's last season in the NFL after 22 seasons. The Steelers' next game will be on Sunday, Oct. 25 against the New Orleans Saints.
