Brandin Podziemski has steadily improved each of his first three NBA seasons, and the Gołden State Warriors rewarded him with a five-year, $110 million contract extension this month. The Warriors won't have Podziemski at their disposal in their season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, however.
After suffering a back injury in a team workout a few days ago, Podziemski will open the season on the bench. Podziemski is eventually expected to be starting in the backcourt alongside Stephen Curry. A career 37.5% 3-point shooter, Podziemski provides floor spacing and toughness that Golden State will sorely miss Wednesday night.
Here's what we know about Podziemski's status going forward.
When is Brandin Podziemski returning to Warriors?
While Podziemski doesn't have a return date set, he's listed as day-to-day, so it's possible he's back in time for Friday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
