Though it's not the most powerful tablet Amazon has ever sold (that would be the Amazon Fire Max 11, discontinued in 2023 with no successor yet released), the Fire HD 10 is the strongest value pick in the lineup, offering a good balance of performance and affordability for anyone who wants a tablet to stream movies and TV, play casual games, browse the web, and read or listen to music and podcasts. And right now, it’s more affordable than ever, with a 53% discount, bringing its price down to a record low of $72.99. (Note that this deal is for the version of the device with lock-screen ads.)
The Fire HD 10 offers a range of everyday features that are hard to beat in a sub-$75 tablet, including a generous 10.1-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and microSD expansion up to 1TB, plus USB-C connectivity and a headphone jack. It’s an ideal choice for anyone who already uses Amazon services like Prime Video, Kindle, Audible, and Alexa—although, as it can only access the Amazon app store, its app selection is more limited than a standard Android tablet’s.
As for its battery life, it delivers up to 13 hours of usage (more than 10 hours while streaming HD video at maximum brightness), according to PCMag, which gave it an Editors’ Choice award. It comes with a 9W charger that delivers a full charge in around four hours; that drops closer to three hours with a 15W charger (sold separately).
With a solid screen, impressive battery life, and a well-constructed build designed around Amazon services, the Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet has enough power for daily tasks and is a worthy choice given the current major discount. If you want a faster Android alternative with full Google Play access, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ is a reliable option, though it costs significantly more.
