Jalen Hurts’ blood clot situation put a major dent on the Philadelphia Eagles’ hopes this season. NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided the latest on the star quarterback’s condition.

Hurts has been playing in the NFL since 2020, going through his seventh year with the Eagles. He shines as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, having led them to the Super Bowl title in 2024.

However, the 2026 season has been rough for Philadelphia as Hurts goes to the sidelines with a blood clot in his calf. Rapoport had an update on the situation during his appearance on The Insiders, understanding that Hurts will be out indefinitely.

“The Eagles and Jalen Hurts and his medical team are going to continue to gather information. You’re right. There is a lot of interest, plenty of discussion about how long and what the Eagles are going to do, and plans, and football, and all of those things. It does not seem like the football plans are at the forefront right now. As you mentioned, the plans are for Jalen Hurts to try to get this blood clot figured out, to try to understand medically what has to happen. Does he go on blood thinners? If he does, for how long? If that happens, then what happens?” Rapoport said.

“There is a lot of questions, and the fact that the Eagles pulled him off the field to make sure that the medical situation, getting second opinions, and all that was first and four months certainly sets him on the path to recovery.”
