National University will hold "Principals' Conference 2026" on 28 November at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Dhaka's Mirpur, bringing together principals of its 2,318 affiliated colleges to discuss improving higher education, college governance, and an education system suited to contemporary needs.
According to the press release, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has agreed to attend as chief guest.
The conference aims to improve the quality of higher education, strengthen college governance, and develop an education system suited to contemporary needs.
It also seeks to encourage principals to play a more effective role in improving learning environments and academic standards at affiliated colleges, while developing skilled human resources in response to changing national and global circumstances.
Participants will receive guidance on national education policy, the government's educational philosophy, higher education development plans, and the implementation of education commitments outlined in its election manifesto. The conference will also offer an opportunity to learn about the government's plans and priorities for college education.
The registration deadline has been extended to 29 October.
To register, principals must visit National University's college portal and log in using their college code and password. They must then select the "Principals' Conference 2026" option and complete the application form as instructed.
Only principals who complete registration may participate.
If a principal is unable to attend due to unavoidable circumstances, the college's vice-principal must register and participate instead.
Participating principals and vice-principals may claim travel and daily allowances from their respective institutions according to the applicable rules.
