Netflix has secured broadcasting rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, marking the streaming platform’s first deal to show the men’s tournament.
The agreement covers all 104 matches of the competition, which Spain will co-host alongside Morocco and Portugal. Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay will also stage centenary matches to mark 100 years since the inaugural World Cup.
Under the deal, viewers in Spain will be able to watch one match per matchday for free. A separate package will be made available to a national free-to-air broadcaster, covering every Spanish national team match, both semifinals, and the final.
Netflix has not yet named its free-to-air partner, with further details expected closer to the tournament.
The platform plans to offer pre-match, halftime, and post-match analysis, along with daily roundups and programming ahead of the competition.
For Pakistani subscribers, the announcement does not mean World Cup coverage will become available locally through Netflix. The agreement applies specifically to Spain and Andorra.
The deal expands Netflix’s partnership with FIFA. The company also holds rights to the 2027 and 2031 Women’s World Cups in the United States and Canada, rather than worldwide.
FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said the partnership aimed to bring supporters closer to the tournament while ensuring broad access to coverage.
