The Lahore Traffic Police have launched a two-day free scooter driving training programme to empower and make female students self-reliant.
According to Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Sheerazi, female students can receive free training at five driving schools established in the city, while directives have also been issued to all in-charges to hold free training sessions.
School and college administrations can also contact the traffic police to arrange special training sessions.
For training purposes, scooter driving schools have been set up at Liberty, Greater Iqbal Park, LOS Ferozepur Road and Manawan, while a free driving course for women is also underway at LOS Ferozepur Road.
Separate Gen Z counters have also been established at all centres for the convenience of female students.
According to the CTO, during the two-day training, expert instructors will provide female students with practical training on riding scooters, safe driving, and awareness of traffic laws.
He said more than two lakh driving licences have already been issued to motorcyclists this year, while special measures are also being taken to ensure the safety of women drivers on the roads.
