BingX has a European license. It does not yet have a European launch date.
BingX EU, the Vienna-based European arm of the global trading platform, announced on October 14, 2026, that Austria’s Financial Market Authority (FMA) granted it authorization under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, better known as MiCA. The approval covers crypto-asset services across 29 European Economic Area (EEA) countries.
After MiCA’s transitional period ended on July 1, only authorized providers can serve clients inside the EEA. BingX EU now has its authorization.
What the license actually covers
The authorization makes BingX EU a crypto-asset service provider, or CASP, in MiCA terms. Specifically, the license lets BingX EU offer custody, exchange, and brokerage services.
The entity behind the brand operates in Vienna under the name MEGE zweite GmbH.
What the company did not provide is a start date. BingX EU has not said when services will actually go live for European customers.
As of mid-October 2026, BingX did not yet appear in the CASP register maintained by ESMA, the EU’s securities markets watchdog.
The road to Vienna
BingX EU’s MiCA application with the FMA had reached an advanced stage by June 16, 2026. The July 1 cutoff for MiCA’s transitional period arrived before the final sign-off, and the authorization landed several months after that deadline passed.
BingX was founded in 2018 and says it serves more than 40 million users worldwide.
Under MiCA’s unified framework, approval from one member state’s regulator opens access across the bloc. BingX EU chose Austria’s FMA as its licensing authority. Austria is emerging as a licensing hub under MiCA, with platforms such as Bybit and Bitpanda also authorized there.
What this means for exchanges and users
For BingX, the license converts Europe from a regulatory question mark into an opportunity. The firm can now pursue both retail and institutional clients across the EEA under a single rulebook, rather than piecing together country-by-country approvals.
Several open items deserve attention from anyone tracking BingX EU’s progress.
First, the launch date. Without one, the authorization is a capability rather than a product. European customers cannot yet act on it.
Second, the ESMA register. An entry there would provide public, bloc-wide confirmation of the authorization status. Until it appears, cautious users may want to verify the firm’s standing directly with the FMA.
Third, the service lineup. The license covers custody, exchange, and brokerage, but the specific products BingX EU offers will determine how it stacks up against rivals already operating under the same regime.
Finally, Austria’s role. If more global exchanges continue routing their MiCA applications through Vienna, the FMA’s supervisory approach could carry outsized influence over how crypto services look across the entire EEA.
