Walton High-Tech Industries PLC, the country's tech giant listed in the engineering sector on the capital market, has set a unique precedent by disbursing its approved cash dividend to investors just one day after holding its annual general meeting (AGM).
According to a press release, the company distributed a 180% cash dividend to institutional and general investors for the 2025-26 financial year immediately following approval.
The disclosure came after Walton High-Tech successfully conducted its 20th AGM on a digital platform on 15 October 2026, where shareholders unanimously approved the board's proposal for a 180% cash dividend and a 10% stock dividend.
Walton's Deputy Managing Director and Company Secretary Rafiqul Islam stated that the rapid payout was made possible by the company's technological excellence, operational efficiency, and robust liquidity position.
Under the approved payout, shareholders received Tk18 in cash for each general share with a face value of Tk10, alongside one bonus share for every 10 general shares held.
The company's audited financial report shows a net profit of Tk1,124.57 crore for the 2025-26 fiscal year, up from Tk1,036.62 crore in the previous year. Consequently, earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk33.75 from Tk31.11. Walton's net asset value (NAV) with revaluation reached nearly Tk12,704 crore, bringing the revalued NAV per share to Tk381.26 and non-revalued NAV per share to Tk280.24.
The company secretary added that the approved 10% stock dividend, sourced entirely from retained earnings, will fund Walton's ongoing expansion of green energy capacity, ensure an uninterrupted power supply, and support modernising and balancing activities.
