Nearly 200 high schools closed in France on Tuesday due to student protests, education minister Edouard Geffray announced.
"Nearly 200 institutions [of education] have been closed today," the minister said on France Inter radio.
According to him, however, fewer high schools are temporarily closed due to the protests now than in previous weeks.
Earlier, participants in the movement had called for the protests not to stop and to join the mass demonstration slated for Tuesday.
Street protests by high school students dissatisfied with their learning conditions continue in France.
